Hello, Sunwalkers and Soul Bards! What do?
I hope this message finds you well and brimming with creativity from the source: your soul. I am thrilled to share with you the incredible experience I had this past weekend at Four State Comic Con, particularly in the vibrant hub of Artist Alley. It was not just an event; it was a celebration of art, imagination, and community that left me inspired and grateful. Not to mention the fact that so many people were wearing cosplay! Marvel and Disney were in full representation, of course, and as expected with the voice of Bulbasaur and Nurse Joy in the house, we had pokemon lovers everywhere. Not to mention the gorgeous variations of characters from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (OMG I AM IN LOVE).
I also got to meet a friend of mine: local to Hagerstown tarot reader, Jamie of mytarot.org. The beautiful Rose won the “guess how many dice” jar, and their signed books, swag, and membership to Ream Stories have been sent.
And I didn’t even have a chance to brag on all the other artists there. Because of it being National Indie Book (Store) Weekend, we had a CROWD of authors in the venue, too! Hagerstown Community College was full of life. From the moment I stepped into the bustling Artist Alley the night before to set up, I was welcomed into a world where creativity knows no bounds. Surrounded by talented artists and authors, the atmosphere was electrifying, filled with the buzz of fans and creators alike sharing their passions. The camaraderie among fellow authors and artists of various mediums was heartwarming as we exchanged stories, experiences, and words of encouragement. It was a reminder of the power of storytelling and the bonds it creates across platforms, people, and craft forms.
The interaction with fans was nothing short of magical. Meeting so many of you, signing books, and discussing our favorite characters and plot twists inside and outside of mernakind was a highlight of the weekend. Your enthusiasm, support, and love for the worlds we create and share through anime, video games, manga, comic books, novels, and more are what make all the hard work worth it.
In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who made Four State Comic Con an unforgettable experience. To the organizers, fellow creators, and especially to you, my fans and supporters, thank you. Your boundless enthusiasm and support continue to inspire me, and I am already looking forward to our next adventure together.
I am taking a break from livestream sprints this week, including for HBWC’s DDD. I will be back at it on May 5 with our first member’s only magic systems building sprints, and then an episode of Listening to the Voices in Our Heads on Monday before we get back to sprints as normal. And a new, free class on May 18!? Thank you all again for supporting me.
Stay tuned for more updates, and remember, the magic of stories is what binds us together, through pages and across worlds.
Take care of yourself… You’ve been worth it all along,
❤️ Jenna
