Things are going to be interesting as we’re inching closer to the Kickstarter launch date. More on that in another post!
Though I am taking the weekend off from writing sprints live on my YouTube channel this weekend, I am leaving a few surprises over there in the coming week instead. On Saturday, I’ll attempt a re-release of a video featuring a tale crafted by “the other self-publishing writer in the family,” Mawmine. Who is this creative, sweet lady? She’s my husband’s grandmother. During lockdown a few years back, and even further beyond that, she created booklets of stories she wrote. Some were reflections and retellings of events that happening throughout her life—individual and global. A few of them make me cry, but one in particular always makes me laugh.

On Tuesday, I'd like to do something extra special, though. Since its both Valentine's Day / V Day 2023, I will release NEPHTYRI'S book trailer earlier than planned for The Merna Annals (Book 1): Bound by Fate and Blood. That's right. There's more than one book trailer now!
What is V Day? According to the organization's website, "V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls started by author, playwright and activist Eve Ensler." For more information or to find out how you can help, please visit their website: https://www.vday.org
Why is this organization and the message contained within Ensler’s play, The Vagina Monologues, so special to me? I studied theater in college, and as part of my acting requirements, I performed in this play twice. The first time, I was part of an ensemble piece. However, the second time? I was the Angry Vagina. As a survivor of domestic violence, I found the role to be reflective and cleansing in my experience as a woman.
Since women’s rights and the importance of females in leadership is crucial to Nephtyri’s story, I couldn’t help myself!
Okay, okay, there is another reason. Two years ago, on Valentine’s Day 2021, I released the original version of this series. We’re not looking back, though. Hence, we’ll enjoy celebrating the first of three—YES THREE—book trailers! Ian is going to join in on the next one, and the final one will reunite the couple!
