I started teaching circa 2011, when K-12 education in the United States was being machined into the beast of destruction it is today. I’ve watched my intentions as a teacher be used against me and my students in ways I didn’t think possible as a professional in my chosen career.
I realized I am leaving the classroom for the main point of breaking the burnout cycle. Sometimes, the only way to heal is to leave the situation—or so an adage claims. However, I also realize that leaving the habits I formed to survive in the classroom serve me well when I need them most as a businesswoman and author.
Learning to say no is something I’ve struggled with for a long time. Breaking cycles comes with those types of lessons. Thank you for joining along the journey as I continue to find my path. Its often the people who support us that inspire us most, and many of you have given me the fanned fire to keep going. I hope to offer the same in return through reading my works or by helping you with your own.
I have also spent more time restructuring my business, so take a gander at my website for what’s changed (a few tabs at the top are new or different)? www.jennathesoulwriter.com
What else has been going on? I’m working in project management supervision in educational services outside of the classroom. It’s a remote position, and I can’t describe exactly what it is I do. However, it’s helping me to realize how much teaching has prepared me to run this business of mine.
Not only am I updating people routinely on my YouTube channel about the Kickstarter, my novels, and more, but I also host writing sprints and writing workshops. Would you like to be part of them? If so, please follow this link to my latest workshop. You can catch it live or on the replay after 1 pm Eastern on June 4, 2023!
And what is this about some sort of Book 2 teaser trailer? Check it out over there and thanks for all you do!
Take care of yourself; blessings be,
