Heyya, lovelies! Thanks for following my side quest. We’re doing so many amazing things these days. I have a teaser about The Merna Annals launching on my YouTube channel today at 1 pm Eastern. That’s a good place to start before the rambling takes over!

How have things been since I left teaching? Interesting is the least that I can say. I love my new job in project management (well, most days—we all know what Garfield the Cat says about Mondays). I’m also looking at what this means for future plans with my small business. I have so many things going at one time some days that I don’t always seem on the surface that things are moving forward. In reality, I realized there are too many moving parts.
I use Sarra Cannon’s HB90 system (check my affiliate link for the open enrollment to this course here) to keep me from going overboard—and I was starting to do it again. As we’re gearing up for another quarter using this system, I also had to do a new set of pros and cons on this last quarter’s projects.
My realization? Perhaps a Kickstarter per novel is too much, too often, and making extra work for myself. Therefore, I’m holding off on doing a Kickstarter until closer to the end of 2023. Why is this a good thing?
For one, it means I can release Book 2: Bound by Oath and Heart (Bjorn/Rochelle) and Book 3: Bound by Vengeance and Mind (Frey/Lee) together on one Kickstarter. Book 2 is in the best condition of the three and needs the least work adds onto that equation in so many good ways. Therefore, keep a close eye on my YouTube channel for more update videos—and probably an update vlog on how it’s been using HB90 for a full year!
What about the Book 1 Kickstarter? No worries. “Making Christmas, making Christmas” a la The Nightmare Before Christmas levels has me so busy—and I am loving being the Soul Writer version of Santa! Thank you to those of you who keep me sane and on the straight and narrow.
How have you been, though? Let me know what you want to see me side quest about next!
Take care of yourself and blessings be,
Jenna O’Malley
