Nephtyri's feeling it so much... two-three pre-orders worth!
Hello, lovelies!
How have the first few months of 2025 been treating you? Mine has been smashing, to say the least. Smashing doubt and more for sure. Have you been feeling like life went all, “POP QUIZ, oh and remember, the teacher doesn’t talk during the test.”
And, no, the Divine is not talking… but other teachers in my life have redirected me into much needed and absolutely appreciated lessons for exponential growth. There’s so many things going on this astrological season, and as we turn the wheel into another version of a new year with the start of Aries season? Oh, my dudes… I am feeling it so much! I taught high school English for, up until this moment, about half as long as I’ve been alive. As Dorothy Z from The Golden Girls says, “Symbolism was my life.”
I’ve been facing imposter syndrome, as ever, the last few months. We’ve found out that we have to move… AGAIN. I kid you not. Why this time?
One, there’s mold growing in various places that keeps returning despite bleach cleaning. I as an asthmatic who grew up in a house with the same issue cannot stand to be around it for long. I’m relying on my nebulizer multiple times a day—something that I have never dealt with ever in my life. Mind you, I had my first full-blown asthma attack at two or three years old (thanks, baby aspirin).
Two, we were informed by a legal representative of our local HOA that a chemical plant had been dumping who-knows-what about half a mile from the home where I currently live. People a few streets over have passed from the usual suspects caused by such proximity: terminal illnesses a plenty. The EPA has been brought in and revealed the dumping dates back to the 1990s, around the time this neighborhood was built. I lost my father to the NASTY C WORD we all hate, and my half-brother has kicked it’s backside back to the end of the abyss twice with grand victory. This makes me a high risk for cancer genetically speaking without living near a cancerous field of waste. They’re testing the groundwater, topsoil, and trees—WHEN DID my life become so much like Nausicaa from the Valley of the Wind? Because the mask thing? Yeah. Back to wearing that, too, because I do not want to become ill, given I also have long COVID along with the asthma—oh, and it’s allergy season. Lovelies. When did our lives become a Ghibli movie, again I ask!?
I had to do what Nausicaa would do. Keep making progress toward the better. Therefore, on the plus side, we have two pre-orders coming out! If you look at my link hub of holding, you will also find I have updated all of the book links to be universal links, meaning that for ANY book listed here from The Merna Annals, you will be given an option of which vendor to purchase it from.
Check out pre-orders for Pearl and Gold and The Winged Ones at your favorite retailer / vendor here!
Amid all of the above mess, I had to take some time off to look for a home, clean this one thoroughly deep, and just generally rest to catch up on my health. This means I am taking a break, mostly, from social media and YouTube is included. Basically, I am giving myself a true spring break. I am focusing on some odd and end client tasks behind a screen, and then, I am working on Frey’s novella, Six Weeks but Three Years, to prepare it for pre-order while finalizing the outline to The Merna Annals, Season 2, Book 6: Legacy of Lyric and Time. I hope to find a home that is safe, secure, affordable, has a beautiful view, more than enough storage and space to grow, and keeps me and the family happy and creating our joy for years to come.
Until then… keep soaring on your wings, friends. The storms do not last forever.
Your voice matters. Always has. Always will. I love you all.
Hugs,
Jenna OM
