So Many Epic New Beginnings--Thank You for Being Here for Them
Welcome back to Soul Writer’s Side Quest, lovely.
I hope you’re rocking your life the way you’ve always wanted and not believing the lies other people tell you. Right? Right!
NaNoWriMo is finally here, which means there is a lot of activity going on over at my YouTube channel. You can join in on all the fun by clicking here. As part of the #writingglimmersnano23 challenge, I am doing various topics on subjects I’ve been holding back on (more on that below), writing vlogs as I write Micah and Elina’s story for VITAELANGICA 2: The Captains of Zenith Falls, arguing with merna shorts, cup o’ positivity based footage, and Soul Care Sundays! Some of these items are pre-recorded or as shorts as noted, but I am excited to add a few livestreams throughout the month. I love doing writing sprints on behalf of Sarra Cannon’s HeartBreathings writing community (click here for more information), and I love doing Soul Care Sundays! This week’s episode is on a subject I’ve become a student of the last few years in ways I normally don’t admit.
Soul Care Sundays NaNoWriMo 2023 Edition: Feeling the Fear and Writing It Anyway (a writer confessional on failure and restarting)
Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 1 pm Eastern
“Failure is the tuition you pay for success.” That quote has been with me since my childhood, and I find the older I become, the more and more I am a student of failure. Not that I am failing all of the time, per se. What I mean is I experiment and test and collect data and analyze and pivot. It’s in my blood.
I know you know. I’m one of THOSE September babies.
I’ll save the big blue hair for another life. On the other hand, back to my point. I am at a crossroads in this one. Where am I headed? I have so many plans in store. I teased an upcoming Kickstarter, and of course Books 1 and 2 of The Merna Annals is now wide. Madam Mahlyce has the announcement!
OH! And Book 1: Bound by Fate and Blood is now PERMA FREE. Click here to find your copy!
Again, thank you all for being here on the journey! I cannot wait to share more from here onward.
Sincerely,
Jenna O’Malley

Author Shout Out
Will appeal to fans of The Wheel of Time.
"I loved Becoming a Druid. It reminded me of an all-druid D&D campaign. You have a quest, but you can't tell anyone about it and anything that can go wrong does go wrong. Making friends, losing friends, death, enemies...Becoming a Druid had it all."
"This story revolves around our young hero completing his first quest, taking us through rich landscapes and well thought out characters. There is love, mystery, and magic mixed within an action-packed book. It took me just a bit to get into this, but when the worldbuilding took off, the characters started springing from the page. I laughed, cheered, and cried my way through this story."
"I have always been a fan of druids and old celtic history, so I was extremely excited when I found this book. You quickly enter the ancient world of celts and druids travelling in first person with Grahme, a druid in training. The story is fun, fast paced with its own unique blend of twists and turns. The author does a great job writing in first person, i look forward to the other books in this series."
"A wonderful blending of historical myth and fantasy, the world is rich and lived in, the magic is well-thought-out and feels real, and the characters are dynamic and interesting. A solid, interesting take on the hero's journey that takes twists and turns that will keep things from getting boring. Very enjoyable and I loom forward to the next!"
"The book follows the adventures of Grahme as he pursues becoming a Druid. This is a fun romp as the protagonist grows through a number of setbacks and adventures and developing relationships. The lesson that you should be careful what you wish for because you just might get it hold true for the young Grahme. He learns how to suffer death, destruction, and his own self-doubts, but he perseveres showing the way for readers."
