Soul Care Time and Wedding Anniversaries
Book Trailers and 11th Year During a 7 Year? Yes, please!
Welcome back, lovelies!
Thank you for your patience with me as I skip around to different days of the week for a few weeks and possibly miss a week randomly altogether this summer. Not only do I think this is a fun time to experiment, but I also am enjoying a little bit of carefree summertime vibe in my business right now. Consider it the affects of my soul-care mantra or all of the astrological wow and woo going on right now.
First of all… don’t forget to read until the end and watch Bjorn’s book trailer that drops today on my YouTube channel (@jennathesoulwriter)? Nephtyri, Ian, and Rochelle are linked below for anyone who also needs to catch up :)
The first week of July is usually busy here in Maryland—we did donate most of the land the U.S. capitol sits on after all. We kind of go all out for Independence Day around this part of the country. Because of what happened to sleight women last year, I have a very mixed sense of what liberty means, more than I ever did as the little girl from downtown Baltimore I once was. However, Cody and I celebrate our wedding anniversary just days after July 4th, so we traditionally take that as our “summer break” together for a longer weekend or, as we did last year, a longer vacation.
This year is our 11th wedding anniversary, so we stayed about our new hometown to investigate and explore it more. Hagerstown is true to its name as the Hub City locally… there’s so much more to do! We weren’t bored, and we tried a lot of good food. More importantly, we rested. He delivers for Amazon by day, and our week together falls perfectly before his forced overtime with Prime Week deliveries work best when we take that first week in July to mostly us.
So what’s so important about 11 and 7 right now? Well, if you research numerology, most people will say 11 and 7 are really good numbers. Eleven is considered the first of what is considered “master” numbers due to its symbolic strength—22 and 33 are often considered the others in this category. The repeating digit aspect is the key here, as it reinforces 11’s ties to independence, loyalty, dedication, and creativity.
How does 2023 = a seven year? Math indicates a simple equation here:
2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 7
This past July 7, 2023 was hence a 7-7-7 date—and it is the dawn after our anniversary. We all know what gambling tells us about 7-7-7. “Luck be a lady” for more than tonight is how that song should have gone, my beloved Sinatra.
When we first moved into our home now seven months ago (OMG ANOTHER 7), I was thrilled to find that we have these numbers all around our apartment complex. This past week, it had me focusing on how truly blessed and lucky we are to still be together. Cody and I have seen a lot of pain and loss in the youth of our marriage, and I can only remember that the song goes, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
The closer we draw to July 17, 2023, therefore, the more nostalgic I become about how much Cody has really been a driving force to keep me writing. I had every reason not to rebrand The Merna Annals and to simply write everything off as a business loss exactly one year ago this month. On a silver platter, the Divine presented me with a solid way out. Cody was the first person to remind me what J.R. Ward so wisely advises to all types of writers, indie or commercial: pull up your big person pants, put your butt back in that chair, and get to doing what you love most.
This time, I did it with joy. This time, I did it for me. This time, I did it because Ian and Nephtyri deserved the spotlight. When I received such an amazing feedback on Book 1’s Kickstarter a few months ago, Rochelle and Bjorn waltzed in and said, “you’re taking us along for the ride earlier than planned, too. Deal with it.”
And who is there, listening to me go through these crackpot plans? Cody. My anam cara. My grumpy bear. My handsome knight. My Cheesecake Man. I am thrilled to be walking into yet another year full of adventures with you.
Today marks the ONE WEEK countdown to those two couples dropping in eBook format on my website. Keep a close eye on this link here between now and July 17, 2023. Are you ready to change your legacy, lovelies?
