The final newsletter before we move.
You read that right.
I’m taking a break from Soul Writer’s Side Quest until after the move to our new home is finished in a few weeks. Want a teaser photo of the place? Have at here!
If you’ve missed the teaser videos I’ve been sharing this past weekend on my YouTube channel, click here, then here is the opposite facing view of that shot! There are stairs to the right of that pillar on the right in the front. Aaaaaaaaaaaaall the way in the front section is where we are, though! Right where all the natural light sits! I’m rigging up some tapestry curtains to section off the arches asap. Want to send me suggestions? Comment below! Something kawaii witchy is my vibe, as we know, lol.
This year has thrown me for some hard loops, and I’ve been holding onto the lap bar and seatbelts and OMG handle for dear life. I’m finally enjoying the ride, too.
Right as a series of new beginnings started, I ran into a series of endings. A year ago, when we moved into this apartment, we named it after one of the fortresses in my novels, The Merna Annals. Historically, Ephesus is home of the Artemisia, one of the largest temples of the old world left standing now for us to study and explore and preserve and enjoy learning from. This apartment has been a fortress. Now, we are moving into the home we’re calling Quetin Manor. Why? Well, you see… Mawmine, the other self-publishing author in the family and Cody’s grandmom and one of my favoritest people ever, wrote a story once about a little quail named Quetin that Papa, who passed away some time ago, raised in their basement in the home they had while Cody was a kid.
I know, bad editor for the run on. I hope you followed that info dump.
In short, because of quails being important to where we live, we’ve dubbed the home we’re moving into in a matter of weeks or days in their honor. Papa was watching out for us when we found it, too. After months of looking (I kid you not) and many places not working out “just yet” or “for now,” we weren’t certain what was happening in December. Now, we know. For sure. For certain. We have a home. Not a fortress to keep us safe in the tress when times are tough. Rather a paradise on earth. After all, symbolism behind quails can represent a time to act on the dreams we have, or learning that hope doesn’t fail us when we don’t give up on it. Good lord. Lovelies. The feels.
They’re hitting hard as of today. I’m releasing a vlog on my YouTube channel this evening that marks what might be the beginning of my Cry Like Markiplier Era. Why? After we do this vlog and a few more odd and end videos and livestreams over the next two weeks… I’m landing right back in the new place in time to get up and running for vlogmas. Why not start the feels now?
Thank you to everyone who has been here for this new beginning. The chapter ended far sooner than I thought. I am here for the cliffhanger, though. Care to take my hand and join along the ride? I care about you. I hope you do, too.
Sincerely,
Your soul writer,
Jenna O’Malley
