This week, I wanted to talk about what the start of 2025 has been like. Well, I ended up in the ER for an asthma and bronchitis treatment. I breathe so much better now! lol At the same time, I have been spending a lot of time resting. I have been sleeping more than I like while dealing with getting better, and my main focus has been mainly the basics to keep things going and what clients have needed. Thank you for your patience as I sort out of my balance of taking care of me with my tendency to say, “Well, back to work.”
I’ve gone back to tracking things better with my balance in habits. I missed the patterns I had two moves ago, in that lovely apartment I adored so much. Now, two years and a second move later, I am relocating my discipline to take time to journal, meditate, workout, and similar as much as I was working on things for me or for a client. Trust me, I love reading and writing for a living through being an editor, coach, and author! I need to take care of me as much as I tell others to do the same. I am loving the time I spend in that garden tub we have here at the house, too! lol
I have another peak at the cover reveal for A Merna Annals Side Quest! The Winged Ones is coming along swimmingly!
At the same time, I am awaiting a few blurbs from my personal blurb doctor and fellow author to the epic amazingness, Rachel D. Adams, too! She has been sent both The Winged Ones and Six Weeks but Three Years — AND A SUPER SPECIAL SECRET PROJECT!
When I was over on Ream Stories last year, I wrote a novella called Pearl and Gold. This is a tale from Nephtyri’s point of view that takes place after the end of Season 1, Book 5: Bound by Lyric and Time. It explains how merna (vampires, werewolves, faeries, catshifters, and dragonkin) learn how to live in what will eventually be called the Caribbean country Jamaica.
I am enjoying working on these Side Quests as we head toward the publishing of Season 2 in the years to come. Oh, yes. I am in the plotting, planning, and brainstorming stages on those five books, too!
As far as Jeremy goes… I am order new art from Jeremy, our art director, soon! This includes Abraxas’s fan art, The Winged Ones, and manga-like panel inserts for each of Books 1 - 5. These art items will become merch items in The Tiara Book Box, the form for which will launch on March 06, 2025 (3, 6, 9 BABY!)! another friend of mine and I will be starting a certain livestream. My friend, Baka of the Uncanny Universe, will be co-authoring The Merna Annals TTRPG with me live on my YouTube channel starting Thursday, January 23, 2025. Baka is the creator of Tuce, one of Aryeh’s personal guards, The Winged Ones! How fitting that his math brain is going to keep my word brain on track as we literally write the handbooks together.
